ELEVATING GUEST EXPERIENCES THROUGH DISTINCTIVE ENVIRONMENTS
INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL SOFIA
A Landmark Reimagined
About the project
A bold, emotive design that transforms history and place into an immersive experience of elegance and light.
Refined elegance meets subtle extravagance, resulting in a mysterious aristocratic aura. In this renewed space, class and abundance intertwine, creating a sophisticated environment that resonates with the grandeur and vibrancy of its location.
With characteristic boldness and depth, Alex Kovatchev and IDEA International Studio approached this emblematic building on one of Sofia’s most significant squares. Drawing inspiration from the square itself — a place tied to key moments in Bulgaria’s recent history — the design channels the spirit of change, hope, youth, and freedom. These ideas find their expression in a striking artistic installation, a seamless union of art and lighting, that envelops the hotel’s entryway in a symphony of emotions.
